How do I become a licensed doctor in Kentucky?

To become a licensed doctor in Kentucky you should:

  1. Firstly graduate from a medical school approved by the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure. But, if you choose a med school out of the state of Kentucky it should be approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. Medical education obtained outside the United States is evaluated by the Board on an individual basis. Moreover, education obtained in Canada is equivalent to the United States.
  2. Secondly, complete a minimum of 2 years of post-graduate residency training approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the American Osteopathic Association, or the National Joint Committee on Accreditation of Pre-registration Physician Training Programs.
  3. After that pass one of the following exams: USMLE, NBME, NBOME, COMPLEX, FLEX, or State Board Exam. All these exams are approved by the Board and are acceptable.
